Who are we?

A lifelong experience with horses is the foundation for this Connemara stud and trainingcenter. Our top priority is the welfare of the horses. We try to give them the most natural life as possible, with lots of hours in the big paddocks, lots of stray and feeding individually.  The training is inspired by Monty Roberts and Pat Parelli, but is customized every single pony and our own beliefs. Our goal is to produce topquality ponies for dressage, jumping, breeding and show, with a personality that fits children as well as adults. 
We bought our first Connemarapony in 1986 Øxenholm Adonis. Adonis did dressage,

jumping and eventing on national level. In 1988 we found no. 2 in a horse market,
a colt foal, Jackpot. Jackpot won everything there was to win as a yearling and colt,
and 4 years old he passed his riding test and was licensed for breeding. Since then
he was educated in jumping up to FEI level in jumping and did some eventing.  
In 2002 we bought the ponies and horses that has founded todays bloodlines. 
Åse Nielsen from the Barholt Stud wanted to stop breeding, so we bought the last
Connies she had, and a Warmblood mare, Hønnerups Supra, but we
only have a granddaughter of Supras left now, an outcross with the
Connemarastallion Sternbergs Larry Jr. We have never regrettet any of these purchases, but it was not enough with mares, we needed our own stallion. It's always a gamble when you buy a foal or yearling, but we trusted our instincts and experience, and in 2007 we bought the yearling Sternbergs Larry Junior and the foal Sternbergs Marvin. They grew up to make the licensed stallions we hoped for, and lived with us for 14 years. 
We have had lots of great times with our horses. We kept breeding even during times where everyone else stopped breeding due to financial crisis, and so we ended up with 40 ponies for a few years, and had to have a few live in horsetrainers. We have had lots of good results, several licensed stallions, class 1 mares, Supreme Champions, finalists at the Danish Riding Pony Championships in dressage and jumping etc etc. But now we are downsizing. Today have app. 7 ponies and we breed 2 foals a year. We have the mares we want in our breeding program for the rest of our breeding-life, and we are only gonna sell offspring from them. Our newest edition of stallions is Carnane Taylor, but you are welcome to buy a foal in utero, with the stallion of your choise.
